MILL SPRING, NC - John Steven Ford, 53 of Mill Spring, NC took his final walk-about, Monday, October 26, 2009 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC.Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Edward E. (Buck) and Avree Walker Ford. Steve worked for Ivey Electric and was an avid hunter and fisherman and leaves behind many wonderful friends who will carry on the story of his life.Surviving is one son, Justin S. Ford (Katie) of Charlotte, NC; best friend, Sherry Lawter of Mill Spring, NC. Also Heather Greene, Tony Faulkner and Tyler Lawter. One brother, James E. Ford; two sisters, Laverne Lemmon and Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Ford.A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
