Mill Spring, NC—John Glenn Arledge, 68, of Mill Spring, NC passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021.John Glenn grew up in Polk County, NC and was the son of the late William Martin Arledge Sr. and Louise Morris Arledge.  John Glenn loved fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church, but often attended Faith Baptist or Emanuel Baptist Church.  John Glenn fought a hard fight with cancer the last couple of years.  He was known as someone who wouldn't let the bad things in life take away from the good.  When John Glenn was recently asked to describe his life, he said "It's been a Hell of a ride."In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Arledge.Surviving are three sons, Jeremiah Arledge, Joe Arledge (Jessica) and Josh Owens; a brother, William Arledge (Judy); and a sister, Lula Mae Walker (Dwight); a sister-in-law, Anne Arledge and eight grandchildren.Per John Glenn's request, a private burial will be held.
