COLUMBUS – Jackie Ford, 69, of Columbus, passed away, Sunday morning, March 3, 2019 at his home.Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Arthur Thomas Ford and Valma Wilson Ford. Mr. Ford retired from N.C.D.O.T. after 30 years of service and received many awards for being a dedicated employee. Jackie was a very accomplished guitarist having played at church and received awards for his music. Mr. Ford was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.Surviving is his wife, Doris Burgess Ford of the home and one son, Travis Ford of the home.The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the McFarland Funeral Chapel.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Wilson and Rev. Warren Elliott officiating.Burial will follow in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery.At other times, the family will be at the home.
