Columbus, NC - Joe Irving Hilson, 77, of 15 Pinetree Lane, Columbus, NC, died Friday, January 12, 2007 at his home.Born In Montgomery, AL he was the son of the late Joe and Ada Ramsey Hilson. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Marines. Mr. Hilson was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for the Senior Center Meeting Place. He was of the Baptist Faith.Surviving are two sons, Michael Hilson and his wife Jennifer of Taylors, SC and Thomas Hilson of Landrum, SC, their mother Sue Hilson of Greenville, SC. One sister, Mary Jim Pianoski of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Also surviving are a niece and nephew.A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Thursday, January 18, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Dr. Darryl Maxwell officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 330 Carolina Drive, Tryon, NC 28782.
