– Jodi Jean Whisman, 39, of Columbus passed away Saturday evening, October 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.Born in Springfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Donley and Kimberly Shank Whisman of Columbus. Jodi attended Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio where she was involved in EKT and graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida with a degree in Human Development.She spent most of her life giving back to the community. She had a heart for working events, summer camps for special needs children and Easter Seals. She also had a big heart for animals and was a true giver and a lady. She attended First North in Spartanburg, where she was active in the singles group. Jodi was a great daughter, sister, aunt and friend.In addition to being a loving daughter to her mom and dad, she was a loving sister to Derek Whisman of Sarasota, Florida and Chelbe Heminger (Eric) of Westerville, Ohio; a wonderful aunt to Kowin, Evan, Austin, Sheridan and Dalton.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2020 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.The family will receive friend prior to the service Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 1702 East Highland Ave., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
