HENDERSONVILLE, NC - Joan Walker Roberts, 79, of Hendersonville, NC died Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Golden Living Center in Hendersonville, NC. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Nesbitt and Ura Whiteside Walker and was the widow of William H. Roberts who died in 2005. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are one daughter, Lynn Geier of Mill Spring, NC; one son, Joseph Christopher Roberts of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Joseph Walker of Japan, Cmdr. Mark A. Walker of Fernandina Beach, FL; six sisters, Joretta Scott of Cartersville, GA, Linda Martin of Mill Spring, NC, Jacqueline Foster of Mason, TX, Rebecca Walker and Karen Mills both of Fernandina Beach, FL and Sheila Shields of Cullowhee, NC; one granddaughter, Kimberly Aldridge of Wilmington, NC. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Faith Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. J. Ralph Ellis officiating.
