Obituary
Hendersonville, NC Jerry "Cotton" Miles Mixon, 87, of Hendersonville, NC went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Cotton was the son of the late Charlie Cephus and Quinnie Elizabeth Autman Mixon. He worked as a lineman for Pike Electric until his retirement. Cotton never met a stranger; he was a talker and enjoyed making others laugh. He loved his family, his grandchildren, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Elaine Mixon; and a daughter, Kathy Elaine Stepp.
Surviving is his daughter, Shirley Lynn Freeman, and two sons, Jerry Randall Mixon, and Tony Michael Stepp; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one brother, Junior Sineath and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Wilson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Dana Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC officiated by Reverend Anthony Craver.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville, NC following the service.
