GREEN CREEK –
Jerry Lee Ferrell, 83, of Green Creek, passed away, Thursday morning, December 5, 2024, at his home.
Born in Mineral City, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Mike A. Ferrell and Corby Eliose Paynter Ferrell. In Jerry's younger years, he worked in the coal mines in West Virginia and was also a truck driver. He ultimately became a general contractor and co-owner of Nedco Construction; however, he was a jack of all trades. Jerry moved to Green Creek in 2019 from Garner, North Carolina. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints in Forest City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Mitchell Edwin Ferrell, Donald Eugene Ferrell and infant brother, Billy Ray Ferrell.
Surviving is his wife, Norma Caudle Ferrell; two sons, Jerry Lee "Jay" Ferrell, Jr (Angie) of Louisa, Virginia and Michael William Ferrell of Raleigh, North Carolina; mother of his children, Alma Gene Landolf Ferrell; one stepson, Charles Dressler (Robin of Hughesville, Maryland; two brothers, Kenneth Ferrell (Deloris) of Beaver, West Virginia and Larry Ferrell (Sandra) of Hurt, Virginia. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
