- Jerrie Brannon Mooney, 71, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at her home in Tryon.Jerrie was the wife of James (Jim) Mooney, a captain with American Airlines, and the daughter of Isabel Brannon Child. She attended Garrison Forest School, Tryon High School, Rollins College and the New York School of Design.Jerrie's career included modeling, interior design and real estate. She was founder of Florida Land Information in Melbourne and Tryon Properties.An avid fisherman, she maintained a world record for a mako shark for over 40 years until it was broken in 2003.Jerrie and her husband shared their time between Tryon and Miami.In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her sister Isabel Brannon Spencer of New York City and her brother Timothy Brannon of Tryon; two nieces and two nephews.The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, March 16, 2014 in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, Melrose Avenue, Tryon NC with the Rev. Mickey Mugan officiating.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Lukes Hospital Foundation, 89 West Mills Street, Columbus, NC 28722.
