Jason Gray Newman, 48, of Tryon, passed away, Saturday morning, March 12, 2022.A native of Tryon, he was the son of Lawrence Gray Newman and Edna Lorie Newman of Tryon. Jason was a graduate of Tryon High School, Class of 1992, and a graduate of Isothermal Community College, earning a degree in Graphic Design. Throughout his life, has had a passion for drawing. Jason attended Midway Baptist Church.Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife of nine years, Jennifer Newman; one son, Grey Breckenridge Newman; three brothers, John Newman (Joyce) of Columbus, James Newman (Debbie) of Spartanburg and Herschel Newman (Susan) of Hendersonville; three sisters, Jane Foster (Joe) of Tryon, Jenelle Satterfield of Columbus and Brenda Covil (Mark) of Columbus; one step-son, Wrenn Hardin; one step-daughter, Isabele Hardin. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Midway Baptist Church with Reverend Randall Wood and Reverend Lloyd Howard officiating.Memorials may be made to the North Carolina Baptist Children's Home, Post Office Box 338, Thomasville, North Carolina 27361.
