Mill Spring, NC - Jannie Mathis Price, 89, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at her home.She was the daughter of the late Lum Mathis and Anna Roddy Mathis. Mrs. Price was the widow of Calvin B. Price who died in 1996. She was the proprietor of Price Grocery for numerous years. Mrs. Price was a member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving is a son, Charles Wayne Price (Shirley) of Mill Spring, NC; a sister, Rebecca Reese (Russell) of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Deanna Rindosh (Joe) of Fletcher, NC, Terry Wayne Price of Mill Spring, NC, and Christopher Cochran ( Melena) of Mill Spring, NC. Also surviving are two great-granddaughters and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Price Cochran, and a grandson, Timothy Lee Cochran.A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2014, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Josh Lathan and Rev. Doss officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. Friday, just prior to the service in the funeral chapel.Memorials may be made to Pea Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 8732 NC Hwy. 108, Mill Spring, NC 28756.
