Janet Louise Worthington passed away on June 6, 2017 in Hospice House, Landrum, SC, after a long illness.She was born in NYC, August 17, 1928. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Henry Bethel, mother, Edna Bach Bethel, and husband, George H. Worthington III. Surviving are her children, Lorraine W. Mosca, Frank H. Worthington, and George H. Worthington IV. Also surviving are eight grandchildren.Janet graduated from Miss Hewitts classes in NY. She was a ballerina on Broadway in NYC and also taught ballet. She was a member of both the Smithtown Hunt on Long Island, NY and the Tryon Hounds, NC. She was a member of the Landrum Garden Club.On July 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m., there will be a remembering of the life of Janet Worthington in Landrum Presbyterian Church, 404 E. Thompson St. It will take place in the back of the church.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
