TRYON, NC - Janet Alene Smith Larson, 100, of Tryon, NC passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 in Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.Born in Hibbing, MN, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Helene Kavlie Smith and widow of Roy Larson who died in 1998. She moved to Tryon, NC in 1980 coming from Yuma, AZ. Mrs. Larson was a member of the Foothills Music Club, Community Chorus and the Caroline's playing the piano. She was a member of the PEO.Surviving is one daughter, Siri Larson of Tryon, NC; two granddaughters, Kathryn Canete and Karin Diaz. Also surviving are one great granddaughter, Ashley Zappie.No services are planned.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
