LANDRUM, SC - Janet Gibson Green, 86, formerly of Landrum, SC, died Monday, September 17, 2007 in the Laurels of Hendersonville, NC. Born in Jackson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hobert Robert and Mary Magdalene Gunter Gibson and widow of Lloyd C. Green who died in 2002. Mrs. Green was a homemaker, owner and operator of Green's Fabric Shop in Waynesville, NC for approx. 10 years and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years. Surviving are two daughters, Judith G. Eleam and Vicki Karen G. Sommerville both of Hendersonville, NC; two sisters, Marshalean Ashe of Polkville, NC and Jean Hensley of Waynesville, NC. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC, with John Lassiter officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Judith Eleam, 108 S. Justice Street, Hendersonville, NC.
