Green Creek, NC - James Marshall "Buster" Williams, 81, of1265 Moore Road, Green Creek, NC, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Memorial Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC.Born in Polk Co, NC, he was the son of the late James Hamilton and Annie Octa Pack Williams. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army having served in WWII and was a member of the Bryant Womack VFW Post #10349, Mill Spring, NC. Mr. Williams retired from Stonecutter Mills and was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC.Surviving are: a son, Woody Williams of Green Creek, NC; four daughters, Annette Edwards (Kevin), Ginger Helton (Bob) and Lucille Fowler all of Mill Spring, NC and Deborah Robbins of Altavista, VA; One brother, Lewis Williams (Wilma) of Green Creek, NC. Two sisters, Joan Christ (Christ) of Charlotte, NC and Judy Kay Jackson of Hickory, NC; two sister-in-laws, Jean Williams of Spartanburg, SC and Margie Williams of Mill Spring, NC. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Riley and Yates Hamilton Williams and a brother-in-law, Victor Jackson and a grandson, Jordan Alex Edwards.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Silver Creek Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.Burial will be in Silver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the Polk County Burial Squad.The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.Mr. Williams will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.The family will be at the home of a daughter, Annette Edwards, 131 Byars Church Lane, Mill Spring, NC.
