Saluda, NC - James Edward Rush, 51, of Saluda, formerly of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 5, 2015.Born April 13, 1964, he was the son of William and Yoshiko Ishibashi Rush of Boone, NC. Jim has two brothers, Ted and Bob Rush. For 26 years Jim was a respected leader and mentor in the Global Technology and Operations Organization for Bank of America. He was an active member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church in Charlotte.Above all, Jim cherished his wife, Mary, and daughters Katherine, Tressanna and Aileena. Emily Dickinson wrote: Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality. As long as memory endures, Jim's influence will be felt. Jim loved life and joyfully shared that love with all. He fostered a life-long passion for learning in his family by planning international travel, exploring the American outdoors, and sampling cuisine from many lands. He especially loved Cuban and Indian food and pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream. He will be well-remembered for his sense of humor, gentle manner and compassion for friends and family. A Memorial service in Celebration of Jim's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday September 12, 2015 at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NCContributions to an education fund for Katie, Tressa and Aileena to complete their education can be made to: Mary Rush, 976 Crescent Street, Saluda, NC 28773.
