Tryon, NC - James Joseph Kenny, 89, of Lakota Lane, Tryon, NC died Sunday, March 18, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital in Columbus, NC. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary O'Brien Kenny. Mr. Kenny was retired from the regional office of the US Postal Service and was a member of the Tryon Country Club, and the Knights of Columbus. He was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church in Tryon, NC. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Adeline Powers Kenny, two sisters, Agnes Lehr of Trenton, MI and Margaret Reichert, of Hazel Park Michigan, one brother, John Kenny of Westland, MI. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, March 21, 2007 in St. John's Catholic Church, Tryon, NC with Father Patrick Winslow officiating. The body will be sent to Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors, Troy, MI for burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI.
