James "Jim" Chapman Jackson of Tryon died August 9, 2018, while holding the hand of his beloved wife, Sheila. He has gone to meet his maker and we fully expect that he is now hitchhiking around heaven.Jim's life began in Tryon on July 20, 1924 and he lived it his way from the moment he entered the world. It feels impossible to sum up the story and immensely full life of Jim. Everyone has a Jim Jackson story and we will hold onto those memories with love and grateful hearts. We take comfort in the knowledge that he will have more stories to share with us, when the day comes that we are all reunited in God's Kingdom.Jim is currently in heaven waiting for his wife, Sheila Jackson; children, Amy, Kevin and David; 10 grandchildren and all of his friends.A service to remember and celebrate the life of Jim Jackson will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at The Congregational Church, UCC, in Tryon.A reception with "music conducive to singing and dancing" (Jim's request) will be held at the church immediately following the service.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Habitat for Humanity.
