COLUMBUS, NC - James "Buck" Marshall Edwards, 88, of Columbus, NC died Saturday, April 7, 2007 in Willow Ridge Nursing Center, Rutherfordton, NC. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late William Belton and Maggie Smith Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of Columbus Baptist Church, Columbus, NC. Surviving is his wife, Frances Hines Edwards; one daughter, Patricia Hill (Brooks) of Columbus, NC; two grandsons, Larry Hill (Tracey) of Inman, SC and Donald Hill of Columbus, NC. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Ansley Hill and Gaines Hill and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 10, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Dr. Chris Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Patricia Hill, 651 Peniel Rd., Columbus, NC.
