MILL SPRING, NC - Ila Estelle Edwards, 88, of Will Edwards Rd., Mill Spring, NC died Monday, November 5, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Melvin and Martha Cochran Hyder and widow of Hubert Henry Edwards who died in 1977. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Shehan (James) of Mill Spring, NC; one son, Robin Anthony Early of Mill Spring, NC. Also surviving are one grandson, James Shehan (Patricia); two great-grandsons, Jake and Zachery and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in Beulah Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Dr. Joel Wright officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church. The family will be at the home of a daughter, 755 Hwy. 9 South, Mill Spring, NC.
