Anderson, S.C. - Hubert Paul Williams, Jr., 78, husband of June McFee Williams, formerly of Tryon, NC died Saturday, May 12, 2007 in Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, Anderson, SC. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Hubert P., Sr. and Iris Alice Smith Williams. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Williams was retired from the Polk County Rescue Squad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tryon, NC where he taught Sunday School for many years. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Dexter P. Williams (Mary Anne) of Anderson, SC and Gary L. Williams (Sandra) of Flat Rock, NC; one sister, Shirley Emory of Birmingham, AL. Also seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007 in Tryon City Cemetery with Dr. Darryl Maxwell officiating.
