ARDEN, NC - Howard Sharp, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2009.A native of Buncombe County, NC, he was the son of the late Dewey Lee and Katherine Louella Sharp. He spent many years working as a mechanic and loved to fish. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Kathleen Sharp, a son Brad Sharp and two brothers, Butch and Harry Lee Sharp.Surviving are a son, Mike Sharp and wife Susan, a daughter Lisa Sharp-Marra and her husband Joe Marra all of Arden, NC; two wonderful granddaughters, Katie and Michelle Sharp. Two sisters, Frances Sharp of Bessemer City, NC and Betty Grenstead of Hendersonville, NC. A private graveside service was held in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC with Chaplain John Mason officiating.A special thank you to Dr. Runkle, Dr.Hathaway and Dr. Pritchard.Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Buncombe County, 146 Victoria Rd., Asheville, NC 28801.
