—Helen Arledge Sain, 92 of Columbus, NC passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, NC.Helen was the daughter of the late Issac and Eva McMurray Arledge.  She was proudly married to George L. Sain for 68 years until his passing in 2017.  She was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church.  Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Scoggins, four sisters, Hattie Bell Arledge, Gladys Newman, Pauline Tucker and Ruth Searcy; one brother, Harrison Arledge; a son-in-law, Kevin Blackwell and a great grandson, Clayton Scott Sain.Surviving is one son, Scott Sain (Gwen) of Tryon, NC; two daughters, Arlene Shelton (John) of Norwood, NC and Robin Blackwell of Mill Spring, NC; six grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Silver Creek Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Rob Hefner and Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.Burial will be in the church cemetery.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O.
