MLL SPRING, NC -- Helen Vetter Brady, 95, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2013. Born in Newark, NJ on October 3, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George and Nellie Vetter. Married on August 31, 1946 to Joseph T. Brady, who passed away in 1993, she was a graduate of Our Lady of the Valley High School in Orange, NJ.Helen worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone in Newark, NJ, Radio Corporation of America in Cedar Knolls, NJ, and Realty World in Lehigh Acres, FL. She lived with her husband and family in Morris Plains, NJ before moving to Florida in 1977. In February of 2004 she moved to her son's house in Mill Spring, NC.Surviving are her son, Glenn M. Brady of Mill Spring, N.C., and her daughter, Kathleen A. Brady and Richard J. Harter of Cream Ridge, NJ. Helen was an avid bowler her entire life and enjoyed a few 200+ games. She also enjoyed photography and belonged to the Lehigh Acres and Carolina Camera Clubs, where her photos won numerous awards. Her warm personality drew many friends, young and old, over the years. She was active in community groups and women's clubs in New Jersey, Florida, and North Carolina. Helen got her driver's license in 1934 and drove proudly for the next seventy-nine years! The family wishes to thank Carolina Home Care staff, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills staff, and the many friends and neighbors who provided such wonderful support.There will be a viewing held at McFarland's Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 24 July.
