Helaina Sage Young, 29, of Oceanside, CA passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022.She was the loving daughter of Joyce and Demetris Young. Helaina was born in Phoenix, AZ, grew up in Oxford, NC and graduated from Durham School of the Arts before going on to study at East Carolina University and Pitt Community College.She had a passion for acting, singing, art, and music – writing and scoring many of her own songs. Helaina was an adept mechanic, working closely with her Father on all types of cars and motorcycles. She recently moved to Southern California with the love of her life, her fiancé Rob. She adored going to the beach and developed a new passion for gardening. Helaina had the most open heart, infectious smile, and luminous soul. She was kind – kind to everyone, believing that kindness begets kindness.Lovingly remembered by her parents, Demetris and Joyce Young of Columbus, NC; sister, Jasmin Young of Raleigh, NC; loving fiancé, Rob Henson and fur baby, Enzo of Oceanside, CA; grandmother, Katina Tsiamas of Phoenix, AZ; many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC.  A reception will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. following the visitation.
