SALUDA, NC -- Hazel Foster Pace, 78, wife of Horace Pace of 81Gaffney St., Saluda, NC, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her home. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Crawford and Meda Lusk Foster. Mrs. Pace worked for Family Life Publications in Saluda for many years. She later retired as Director of the Saluda Senior Citizens Center, and she was a member of Saluda First Baptist Church where she had been Sunday School Teacher and served in many different areas for many years. Surviving beside her husband are one daughter, Cathy P. Hawkins (Randy) of Greenville, SC. One son, Gary Pace of Saluda, NC. Two sisters, Lucy Hull (Virgil) of Saluda, NC, and Jean Revis (Harold) of Travelers Rest, SC. Two brothers, Melvin Foster (Lib) of Cayce, SC, and William H. "Hop" Foster (Rheta) of Saluda, NC. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Sgt. Blake Craft and Brooke Craft, and 2 great-grandchildren, Hannah and Aysha Craft. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2007 in Saluda First Baptist Church with Dr. George Jones, Rev. Randy Foster, and Rev. David Webb officiating. Burial will be in Saluda City Cemetery, Saluda, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC. Mrs. Pace will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The family will be at the home, 81 Gaffney St., Saluda, NC.
