MILL SPRING, NC - Hazel Louise Greene Chapin, 70, of Big Level Rd., Mill Spring, NC died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thurn Barzillai and Lela Melton Greene. Mrs. Chapin was a retired textile employee and attended Boiling Springs First Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, SC. Surviving are two daughters, Aundria Hyer of Fuquay Varina, NC and Tammy Walker of Sunny View, NC; one grandson, Jordan Lee Walker. Also of the home is a niece and caregiver, Rhonda Thompson Edney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 in Big Level Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC.
