Harriett Beeler Sams, 95, of Hendersonville, N.C. transitioned into her heavenly home on February 9, 2026.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pentrack. Harriett was a graduate of Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee and Indiana University where she received a B.S. in Education and a M.A. in English. Her teaching career included: Arlington Elementary School in Bloomington, Indiana; Martin Elementary, and Martin/ Westview High School in Martin, TN. Harriett was a member of the Fine Arts Club of Martin, and an avid Girl Scouts leader for many years. In her later years, she worked at UT Knoxville and Isothermal Community College, traveled the world, and was an active member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Tryon, N.C.

Her surviving children are Dr. Mike Beeler (Angela) of Norris, TN; Susan Walker (Danny) of Ft. Worth, TX; and Janet Turner (Rocky) of Spartanburg, SC; one stepson, Ronnie Sams of Madison, AL; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack S. Beeler (d. 1981) and Harry J. Sams (d.2019).
