COLUMBUS – Harriet Leigh Spratt Spencer, 84, of Columbus, passed away, January 7, 2026, at White Oak Manor of Tryon.

Born in Lenoir, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ralph Spratt, Sr. and Elizabeth Harris Spratt and wife of the late William “Billy” C. Spencer, III who passed away in in 1993. Mrs. Spencer was a graduate of the University of Florida and moved to Columbus in 1995. She was an avid animal enthusiast and local artist.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Joy Spencer Miller; a nephew, Tyler Miller.

Surviving is one brother, Joseph “Joe” R. Spratt, Jr. (Bobbie) of LaBelle, Florida; one nephew, Jim Spratt (Sharon) of Tallahassee, Florida; three nieces, Margaret “Beth” Spratt of Montgomery, Alabama, Shari Colchin of Montana and Nikku Miller of Fort Meyers, Florida; one great-nephew, James Spratt of Tallahassee, Florida; one great-niece, Laura Spratt of Tallahassee, Florida.
