COLUMBUS, NC -- Harriet Herbrandson Kuster, 88, of Laurel Hurst, Columbus, NC, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in Autumn Care Nursing Center in Saluda, NC.Born in Watertown, SD, she was the daughter of the late Harry Oscar and Alice Smith Herbrandson. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and received her Masters Degree from Cornell University. Mrs. Kuster retired as a Home Economics Teacher from the state of New York. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Christ. Mrs. Kuster moved to Polk County, NC in 1977 having come from Holland, NY and was the widow of Ivan J. Kuster who died in 2006.Surviving include, three sisters-in-law and 15 nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., March 15, 2008 in the Congregational Church of Christ, Tryon, NC with Dr. Robert Barrows officiating.Memorials may be made to Congregational Church of Christ, 210 Melrose Ave., Tryon, NC 28782.
