COLUMBUS, NC - Gregory Dale Padgett, 62, of Ashley Meadows Circle, Columbus, NC, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at his residence. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Elma Walker Padgett. He was a graduate of Polk Central High School in 1967. He will be missed by his numerous friends and relatives. Mr. Padgett was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC. Surviving are three brothers, Robert Padgett (Annette) of Alapaha, GA, Jerry Padgett (Linda) of Landrum, SC and Kenneth Padgett of Columbus, NC. Three sisters, Ann P. Franks (Norman) of Chocowinity, NC, Penny Padgett (Bobby Silvers) of Carrboro, NC and Cleo Haley of Inman, SC. Four nephews, J.R. Padgett (Myra), Steven Padgett, Dylan and Kyle Haley. Two nieces, Margaret and Amanda Silvers. He was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Elizabeth Padgett who died in 1997. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 in Faith Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Tim Gouge officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 265 N.C. 9 Hwy. N., Mill Spring, NC 28756.
