– Grady Lee Plumley, 84, of Dug Hill Road, Landrum, SC died Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Greenville County, SC, he was the son of the late Claude and Annie Emery Plumley. He was a retired technical sergeant with 20 years of active service in the U. S. Air Force and was both a Korean and Vietnam Veteran. Grady was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Landrum, SC and had participated in multiple mission trips. Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Lillie Lindsey Plumley: Three sons, John Plumley (Betty ) of Easley, SC; Darrell Plumley of Spartanburg, SC and Jim Plumley (Rita) of Landrum, SC; two daughters, Beverly Powers of Pacolet, SC and Sondra Gerrald (Danny) of Mullins, SC; a brother, Clyde Plumley (Mary Ann) of Landrum, SC and three sisters; Betty Murphy of Landrum, SC; Bessie Moore of Granite Quarry, NC and Myrtle Burrell (John) of Landrum, SC. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren: Shannon, Ashley, Autumn, Justin, Joshua, Jonathan, Alyssa, Emmalea, and Evan and 8 great-grandchildren; Coy, Brianna, Gabriel, Weston, Ali, Jada, Gracelynn and Layne. Grady was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Plumley (Patricia) and Carl Plumley and a sister, Bertha Plumley. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 in the Rock Springs Baptist Church, Landrum, SC with Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Springs Church Cemetery with Military Rites by the Polk County Memorial Burial Squad. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, April 26, 2014 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetic Association, 1701 N.
