Gladys Lockhart PaceLandrum, SC - Gladys Lockhart Pace, 87, of 422 Belue Mill Road, Landrum, SC, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at her home after a long battle with cancer. Born in Landrum, SC she was the daughter of the late Anderson Jones and Sally Belue Lockhart. She was the widow of Leonard M. Pace who died in1989. After retiring from Rhode Island Textile, she went to work as a private caregiver. Mrs. Pace was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Landrum, SC. Surviving are: five daughters: Nina Thompson of Tryon, NC; Pauline Bell (Harold) of East Flat Rock, NC; Katie Pcenicni (Mike) of Columbus NC; Joyce Pierce of Landrum, SC and Alice Dixon (Tom) of Rutherfordton, NC; two sons, Jerry A. Pace (Brenda) of Zirconia, NC and Alfred Pace of the home; a sister, Emmie Pierce of Landrum, SC and a brother, R. C. Lockhart of Landrum, SC. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, l4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin R. Pace; two sisters, Millie Blackwell and Victoria Howard and a brother, Curnel Lockhart. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006 in Oak Grove Baptist Church, Landrum, SC with Rev. James Penfield and Rev. Jimmy Owens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, just prior to the service in the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
