Columbus, NC - Geneva Faye Nelon, 59, of Smith Waldrop Road, Columbus, NC died Monday, November 18, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC. Born in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hobert and Hattie Bradley Green. A graduate of Polk Central High School Class of 1972, she worked for more than twenty years with Dr. Thomas Perraut in Columbus, NC. Surviving are: one daughter, Monica Gossett (Jeremy) of Inman, SC; one son, Corey Nelon (Beth) of Ellenboro, NC; four grandchildren, Kendall, Brittany, Annabelle and Gabby; three sisters, Liz Hudgins of Columbus, NC, Alice Bailey of Sunnyview, NC and Mary Broadwater of Charlotte, NC and two brothers, Benny Green (Kathy) of Forest City, NC and Gilmer Bradley of Mill Spring, NC; Also special friends Patsy and Dean Toney of Green Creek, NC. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Ann Liese and George Bradley. Memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 in the Big Level Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. William Swink officiating. Family will receive friends just prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. Friday in Big Level Baptist Church. Interment will be in Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery.
