Columbus, N.C. - Geneva Durham Cochran, 91 of Columbus NC passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at The Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Josie Henderson Durham and widow of Fred B. Cochran who died in 2002. She retired from Southern Woven Label Mill, Columbus, NC. Mrs. Cochran enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family. She was of the Baptist faith.Surviving is one son, Albert Cochran (Janice) of Mill Spring, NC; one daughter, Lois Edwards (Larry) of Columbus, NC; one brother, Burley Durham (Dorothy) of Tryon, NC; one sister, Louise Flynn of Columbus, NC. Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.A funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating. Pallbearers will be Teresa Cochran, Robbie Edwards, Timothy Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Zane Johnson and Jake Johnson.Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC.The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.At other times, the family will be at the home of Lois and Larry Edwards, Columbus, NC.
