Columbus, NC - Gail Winsor Ramsay, 77 of Walker Street, Columbus, NC died Tuesday, September 3, 2013.Born in Concord, NH, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Marjorie Beagarie Ramsay; devoted educator of deaf children her entire life. She was a professional cued speech interpreter and teacher and helped many deaf children toward achieving their true potential in life. She was revered for her talent, devotion and camaraderie to her students, family and peers.She was treasured wife to Bruce R. Handley and treasured mother to her four children, Steven DesRoches and his wife Harlette "Harlie" of Vernon Hills, IL and their son, Robert (Bobbie) Darin DesRoches; her son Thomas Dean DesRoches and his spouse, Susan DesRoches and their children, Renee and Michael of Frederick, MD; her oldest daughter, Dhyana Ann Zagri of Los Angeles, CA and her sons, Justin, Benjamin, Gavin and Adam; and her youngest daughter Lisa DesRoches Coleman and husband Tim Coleman of Staunton, VA and their Four children, Jessica, Jennifer, Thomas and James.
