EAST FLAT ROCK – Franklin "Frank" R. Crawford, 89, of East Flat Rock, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday Afternoon at the Elizabeth House.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late John W. Crawford and Flora Hall Crawford. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Following his service in the Army, Frank worked for Southern Railway for 42 years and has thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and loved to share his vegetables with anyone who needed them, especially his tomatoes. Frank was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Saluda for 50 years, having served as a deacon, taught the older men's Sunday school class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Crawford Jr.

Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Harriet Johnson Crawford; one daughter, Lisa Crawford of John's Island in Charleston; one sister, Mary Brown of Leland, North Carolina; one brother, Paul M. Crawford of Charleston.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Saluda.

A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the church with Reverend Tony Reece officiating.

Military honors will be conducted by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
