Landrum, SC - Francis Marion Bishop, 70, of Misty Lane, Landrum, SC, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2007, in Mountain Home Health and Rehabilitation, Hendersonville, NC after declining health for a number of years. Born in Landrum, SC, he was the son of the late Ferman and Sue Sligh Bishop. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bishop was a member of Landrum United Methodist Church. Surviving are: 3 sisters, Mary Corn of Landrum, SC, Ruby Pagano of East Brunswick, NJ, and Ruth Jones of Tunkhannock, PA; a brother, Neal Bishop of Pigeon Forge, TN. Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Dr. Ferman Bishop, John Hilary Bishop, James Robert Bishop, and David Sligh Bishop. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in Landrum United Methodist Church with Rev. Jane Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Landrum City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2007 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at McFarland Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Landrum United Methodist Church, 227 N. Howard Ave., Landrum, SC 29356.
