Columbus, NC - Frances V. Zahn, 90, of Duck Pond Lane, Columbus, NC died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at her home. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Bracigliano Conversa. She moved to Polk Co. in 1995 from Westchester, NY. Mrs. Zahn was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, member of Friends of the Polk County Library, and a volunteer with Steps to Hope. Surviving are her husband, Henry Zahn, one daughter Marilu C. Zahn of Yonkers, NY, two sons, Paul C. Zahn of Putnam Valley, NY and Thomas C. Zahn of Dutchess, NY. Mrs. Zahn was predeceased by a son H. Curtis Zahn. A mass will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 2, 2009 in St. John the Baptist Church with Father Patrick Winslow officiating.
