TRYON, NC -- Frances Sams Waldrop, 80, of 110 Woodland Rd., Tryon, NC, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at her home.Born in Spartanburg County, SC she was the daughter of the late Fred and Aquila Putnam Sams. Mrs. Waldrop was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and she was the widow of John D. Waldrop who died in 1992. She was office manager for Camp Ton-A-Wandah in East Flat Rock for over 30 years and worked as an administrative assistant for 19 years at St. Luke's Hospital.Surviving is one son, John F. Waldrop of Tryon, NC; one daughter, Julie W. Pace of Landrum, SC. Also 3 grandsons and one great-grandson.A Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 22, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC with Rev. Chuck Mullinax officiating.
