Frances Gray Atkinson, 81, died February 15, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.  She was born March 27, 1940 in Greensboro, NC.  Frances resided with her daughter in Columbus at the time of her death.Frances was predeceased by her husband, Robert Earle Atkinson, Jr.  She is survived by her children, Earle Atkinson III, Meg Atkinson, and Gray Atkinson (Elizabeth); her grandchildren, Earle Atkinson IV (Taylor), Ellis Windham (Cody), Frances and Grayce Atkinson; and her great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Tate.A committal service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 am, Saturday, in The Mary Alice Ingram Chapel at The Manor in Florence.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina  28043.
