Mill Spring, NC—Forest Lee "Bud" Pace,  85, of Mill Spring, NC passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.Bud was the son of the late Garvin Lee  and Lola Gibbs Pace.  After high school, Bud served in the US Army in Korea.  Bud worked as an electrician in Polk County for many years, he purchased Pace Electric in the 1970's and later started another electrical business known as Thermal Electric.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Hudgins Pace and a brother, Garvin Lee Pace Jr.Surviving are two sons, Buddy Pace (Allison) of Raleigh, NC, Wendell Pace (Robin) of Mill Spring; one daughter, Barbara Pace Thompson, of Mill Spring, NC; three grandsons, Joshua Pace, Lee Pace (Amanda) and Michael (Kacey) Thompson and two great grandchildren, Braylee and L.J. Pace.  Also surviving are three sisters, Essie Mae Gilbert, Ailene Wilson, and Pat Rickman and one brother Richard Pace.A funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Coopers Gap Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC with Reverend Brian Wilson and Reverend Don Hollifield officiating.The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites given by the Polk County Veteran Memorial Honor Guard.
