Columbus, NC- Evelyn "Lynn" Syers Tholes, 76, of Columbus, NC died Friday, April 27, 2007 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born on June 17, 1930 at White Pine Farm near Luther, MI she was the daughter of the late Fred and Bertha Millington Syers and widow of Robert "Bob" Thole who died in 2002. She attended Luther High School, graduating in 1948. While in high school she worked as a switchboard operator at Wurzburg and was national cover girl for 4-H. Ms. Tholes attended MSU for two years. She married Don Fuller in 1950. She then worked for Michigan Bell in Grand Rapids until retirement. "Lynn" was active in the American Business Women's Association where she served as President in Grand Rapids. She was named Business Woman of the year. She loved flowers, gardening, dancing, music, her friends, sewing and cooking. She attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hendersonville, NC. Surviving are: Son, Scott Fuller; daughter, Monica McDonald; sister Linda Jurik; half sister Aileen Carlson and grandson, Andrew McDonald. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC.
