COLUMBUS, NC - Eva Stuckey Fowler, 101, of Laurel Lake Dr., Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC died Wednesday, February 01, 2012 in Tryon Estates Medical Facility, Columbus, NC.Born in Bloomingburg, OH, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Sara Catherine Brown Stuckey. She was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Women's Army Corps. Mrs. Fowler was a retired High School Teacher with a BS and Masters Degree in Education from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC and was the widow of Jesse L. Fowler Sr. who died in 2001.Surviving are two step-sons, Richard W. Fowler of New Prospect, SC and Jesse L. Fowler, Jr. of Chester, VA; one step-daughter, Helen Tolerico of Mill Spring, NC. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Silver Creek Baptist Church, Mill Spring with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.Burial will be in Silver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service in Silver Creek Baptist Church.Memorials may be made to Silver Creek Baptist Church, "Good Neighbor Fund", 1955 Silver Creek Rd., Mill Spring, NC 28756The family will be at the home of her step-daughter, Helen Tolerico, 373 Chimney Rock Rd., Mill Spring, NC 28756.
