Sunny View, N.C. - Esther Iona Nelon, 75, of Nelon Road, Mill Spring, NC, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the home of her daughter. Born March 17, 1931 in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Ollie Wilson. She was the widow of Ernest Nelon who died in 1986 and was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church. "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39 At home with the Lord now. Surviving are: A son; Norman Nelon of Sunny View, NC; two daughters; Jewel Cole and Darlene Spivey both of Sunny View, NC; two brothers, Clarence "Buster" and Calvin Wilson both of Sunny View, NC. A sister, Violet Jackson of Sunny View, NC; She was blessed with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2006 in Cane Creek Baptist Church, Sunny View, NC with Rev. Jerry Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends just prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Cane Creek Baptist Church, Sunny View, NC. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Darlene Spivey, 329 Nelon Road, Sunny View, NC.
