Tryon, NC -- Mrs. Ernestine Peek Crowell of Oak Hill Apartments in Tryon, NC died September 29, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. She was born May 30, 1927 in Atlanta, GA and was the daughter of Ernest Laprade Peek and Thelma Lunsford Peek. Mrs. Crowell was a graduate of Girls High in Atlanta, GA. She was an avid bridge player and a member of numerous bridge clubs in the Tryon and Spartanburg area. She was a loving mother and wife and a special "Mimi" to her four grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Crowell, Jr., her parents and a sister, Peggy Peek. She is survived by her daughters Peggy Crowell Seymore (Eric) of Easley, SC and Bonnie Crowell McKibben (Stewart) of Lexington, NC, her son William F. Crowell III and his wife Kathleen Carson of Tryon, NC and by four grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday October 2, 2006 at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.The family will be at the home of Bill Crowell, 26 Broadway Ave., Tryon, NC.
