Emily Lyle Edwards, 74 of Greenville, SC passed away Friday, January 23, 2026. Born and raised in Tryon, NC, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice Edwards.  She is pre-deceased by her brother, Dan, and survived by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Edwards of San Antonio, Texas and friends that she called family.

After graduating from Tryon High School in 1970, Emily attended the University of North Carolina receiving BS in Industrial Relations. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

She loved Tar Heel basketball, travel, beach music, flowers and ribs. Known for her kindness and compassion, she was a genuine friend and always had a ready hug for family and friends. Emily’s passion and the gift she shared on earth was her love of people – helping people, loving people, comforting them with a smile, helping them enjoy life just a little more.

Emily retired from Michelin Tire Corp after 31 years of service. She was member of Advent United Methodist Church, the Gleaners Life Group and a volunteer for the Cancer Survivor Park.

Emily’s family and friends would like to thank her caregivers at The Palmettos, NHC Mauldin Unit 1, VIA Hospice, Agape Hospice, Freedom Home Care and Home Instead, and the countless friends that supported her.

Rather than a service, Emily requested that you gather with someone that knew her and celebrate her life. She loved flowers and asked that you buy some for someone you love.

She will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC.
