TRYON, NC - Elma Katherine Turner Richards, 76, of Tryon, NC died Tuesday morning, February 13, 2007 in Pardee Care Center, Flat Rock, NC. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Lois Waters Turner. She was a member of the Tryon Church of God. Mrs. Richards was retired from Brock Cleaners in Tryon, NC. Surviving are her husband, Clarence Richards; two daughters, Sandra Kay Gee of Green Creek, NC and Carolyn Diane Richards of Forest City, NC; two sons, Edward Wayne Richards of Tryon, NC and Phillip Carey Richards of Columbus, NC; two brothers, Mitchell Turner of Greer, SC and Alvin Turner of Hendersonville, NC; two sisters, Susie Irvin of Lawrenceville, GA, Genelle Barkley of Hendersonville, NC. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Don Littleton and Rev. Debby Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Green Creek, NC. The family will receive friend's from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Kay Gee, 75 Ivie Trail (Green Creek), Columbus, NC 28722.
