COLUMBUS, NC - Elma Finch Mills, 89, of Laurel Lake Drive, Columbus, NC died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 in Tryon Estates Medical Facility, Columbus, NC. Born in Broadalbin, NY, she was the daughter of the late Cecil C. and Olga Lofgren Finch. She graduated valedictorian from Broadalbin High School and obtained a BA Degree in Physics from Vassar College. Mrs. Mills was a volunteer with many organizations. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence P. Mills; three daughters, Judith Courter of Absecon, NJ, Melinda Lee of Cambridge, Mass. and Marcia Wakeman of Charleston, SC; one brother, Dr. Stuart Finch of Haddonfield, NJ. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. No service will be planned. Interment of the cremains will be in the family plot in Amsterdam, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Luke's Hospital, 101 Hospital Drive, Columbus, NC or to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28782.
