—Elizabeth Dexter Knox, known as Ibby to her friends, passed away on April 4, 2019 at the age of 94.Ibby was born September 25, 1924 in Portland Oregon. Her father, Albert Knox was an Officer and Oral Surgeon/Dentist with the Navy. Her mother, Arabella Katherine, was a homemaker who took care of Ibby and her younger sister, Alisha, as the family moved to locations throughout the US and the world during her father's military service.A graduate of Brown University, Ibby began as a Millinery buyer for a large retail group in the Northeast. After serving as a buyer, she went into Management Training. Upon completing this program, she was given the task of developing and leading the companies Personnel Training Program before moving to Traveler's Insurance and Citigroup as a Trainer.Ibby was an avid and accomplished painter. During her time in this area, she was a member of the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Guild. Ibby was also a skillful golfer. She had a quick mind, artistic spirit, and independence that allowed her to continue traveling and making new friend throughout her life.Ibby was predeceased by all members of her family except for two nephews in California. However, Ibby was like family to many of her friends.No memorial service is planned per Ibby's wishes.
